"Stay open to possibilities and opportunities by not turning down chances for change and success". This mantra helped me to have the life I have now. If someone said to me, "you should do that", I did it. I have to say it was an interesting journey, but it worked. When you can't make decisions for yourself, listen to others, they will guide you.

Following Mom's 90th birthday, we were reflecting on how generous and kind people were. Mom said, "the Dixon family need to remember others and do more for them". For her she was overwhelmed with such a feeling of love from others. What her point here was, even though we feel we are generous, we can do more. More birthday cards, more phone calls, more text messages, overall, just remember people. Make them feel as special as they have made her feel.
I like to encourage others when they are facing a difficult situation to grab onto a mantra. It can be as simple as, "just breathe". One well used line is "one day at a time" or "this too will pass". This doesn't happen as much anymore, but I would often find a mantra going through my head when I was struggling with something. I would never be able to count the times I have said to myself, "you can do this". I didn't realize at the time it was a prayer for myself, I just knew it gave me strength and courage when I needed it.
A mantra will bring out the positive energy inside you. If you are struggling right now, grab onto a line, create a sense of wrapping yourself with amour. Putting your focus into a few small words and repeating them will help move you forward. Always remember, "you got this, girl".
